Are you familiar with the term "Gendered Innovations (GI)?
The objects we use in our daily lives and the ideas we take for granted are often shaped by biases. If we can become aware of these biases, the world could take a step in a better direction.
On Day 1 of this year's Tokyo Forum, we will feature a session titled "Gendered Innovations Shaping the Future", in which the speakers of expertise will explore the importance of GI and its impact on science and technology. With key contributions from GI pioneer Professor Londa Schiebinger, along with experts from South Korea, Japan, and Editor-in-Chief of Nature, the session will explore the future of science shaped by GI, focusing on the need for research evaluation and gender education in STEM fields.
At this year’s Tokyo Forum, a diverse group of people—researchers, artists, entrepreneurs, and students—will come together across disciplines and generations to explore and discuss the transformative power of “design” in shaping our future.
