PROFILE
Michael Sandel teaches political philosophy at Harvard University. His new book is "The Tyranny of Merit: What’s Become of the Common Good?" (実力も運のうち 能力主義は正義か?). Sandel’s books, including "Justice," have been translated into more than 30 languages. His NHK series “Hakunetsu Kyoshitsu” brings together students from Japan, the U.S., and China to discuss ethical dilemmas and contemporary issues. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Sandel has been a visiting professor at the Sorbonne and delivered the Tanner Lectures on Human Values at Oxford University.
