YOSHIKAWA Hiroyuki

Professor Hiroyuki Yoshikawa is now Member of Japan Academy, President International Professional University of Technology in Tokyo and Osaka where he is leading to design national research programmes for realising the sustainable prosperity in society by integrating sciences, natural, medical, technological, social and literal. His recent positions were: President of the University of Tokyo, President, President of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Director General of the Center for Research and Development Strategy, JST. He developed a method of integration of different disciplines for sustainability research. His academic subject is General Design Theory, which is common through different engineering disciplines. He was President of ICSU, 1999~2003, and worked for its reformation.
