PROFILE
OKI Sayaka is a historian of science and a professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo. Her research focuses primarily on the intellectual history of academic freedom and the history of academic institutions in Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries. Another key area of her concern is the inclusion of minority perspectives in academia, especially those of LGBTQ+. She serves as an associate member of the Science Council of Japan and as a member of Committee for Freedom and Responsibility in Science of the International Science Council.
