PROFILE
SUZUKI Aya is a development economist and a professor at the Department of International Studies, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, the University of Tokyo. She also serves as a Special Advisor to the President and a Deputy Director General, Division of University Corporate Relations to promote social entrepreneurships since April 2023. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis in 2008 and worked at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies prior to the current affiliation. She is a founding board member of the Japanese Association for Development Economics and an editorial board member of Asian Development Review, published by the Asian Development Bank.
