SUGANO Akira is Executive Vice President (Chief Financial Officer) of the University of Tokyo.
He is a former President and Chief Executive Officer of Asset Management One. Prior to joining Asset Management One, he was Deputy President and Executive Officer at Mizuho Financial Group, where he was responsible for the firm’s corporate finance business for multi-national clients as the Head of Global Corporate Company.
SUGANO has over 41 years of extensive financial experiences and he has engaged in asset management business and developing global business strategies. He holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Tokyo.
