Products have been the center of the value in the capital intensive society until now. An inclusive society is expected to be realized by promoting the ever progressing knowledge-intensive society. Creation of new values is necessary in such knowledge-intensive society with the use of data and its application indispensable to realize such a society. From these points of view, the latest technological trends of AI, IoT, Robotics and Big Data, its effect on the economy, how we consider the value creation including services, the relation with the mind and soul, as well as ‘Responsible Consumption and Production’ are discussed in this session.

Application of AI technology in medical area is becoming widely spread. For instance, improvement of effective and reliable medical image diagnosis by the assistance of AI is expected. The data obtained from the daily diagnosis is dealt as big data, and from where useful information is extracted automatically using AI. The feature of the AI embedded medical devices and systems, risks which should be considered, how it should be appropriately used, ethics and responsibility of the AI medical system are discussed.

After discussing about the applications of technologies in manufacturing and medical/health fields, crosscutting issues of governance of digital revolution will be discussed from social science perspectives. Crosscutting governance issues include ethics, changing works and lifestyles, competition among platformers, privacy, changing requirements for education and the future of global governance, etc.
