PROFILE
Professor of Economics and Director of Tokyo College at the University of Tokyo. Hoshi's research area includes corporate finance, banking, monetary policy and the Japanese economy. His past affiliations include Stanford University and University of California, San Diego. His books include The Japanese Economy, 2nd Edition (co-authored with Takatoshi Ito), and The Political Economy of the Abe Administration and Abenomics Reforms (co-edited with Phillip Lipscy). Hoshi received his B.A. from the University of Tokyo and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
